My boss contacted me today, to point out that I didn't close any of our coding items for this week.
I told him that I'd been dealing with some pretty damn hard concepts for me, and examples of how to do these things in C# are very, very limited. In fact, I can see why, but I can do it all in C++/MFC without a problem at all.
I've tried to get assistance from coworkers, and they've been helpful, mostly.
So, I asked the boss what's up, and how come he's worried about the # of items per week we close.
That and this week, almost every day, I updated my source code, only to find out that I have to readapt the code that I've been working on.
Well, the boss looked at my activity for the past month, and I'd been closing almost an item a day or so. Which is what is expected.
The boss told me I was "fine" since I had the rate of "fixes/closures" as expected...
Where I'm worried is that further up the chain, they keep talking about cutting people off... I'm just worried about losing my job and trying to find work for an employer that will hire and use me the way I am now...
Damn bipolar, arthritis, and migraines suck ass!
