As you might have noticed, I really dig Futurama.
My toilets aren't broken or anything, but I thought that line from the show would make someone smile.
Actually, I did have a moment today, where the kids managed to mop both of the floors in our bathrooms, and I needed to pee outside.
Luckily, our yard is large, and fenced, with several trees in a place that I've become a "regular" pisser at, when the toilets' have both become inaccessible.
During the winter at night, since it's usually raining, I might occasionally go pee just out the back door. Very rarely does that happen anymore. Especially since it mostly happened when my uncle lived here.
If my folks decide to move near us, then we'll probably have to deal with that until they get their own place.
I would feel better with my folks closer to me. If they needed food, we can share very easily, instead of going... "hmm.. how much money should we send? And how do we know they won't spend it on those asshole brothers of mine?"
Bad of me to think so? Not really. My mom has often told me they pay for their crap at times when they're broke.
Today is my daughter's 11th birthday, and she's very excited.
Ellie and I haven't been out shopping for her birthday presents yet, but we're going to try and go tonight/this afternoon.
We really need to go into the next city to return the wheelchair my uncle had been using to the company he was renting it from. When he first got the chair, we thought it was actually purchased for him. Turns out it was only being rented.
By making the trip to the larger city, we can also go shopping at more stores, like a super Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, the Mall(s), etc.
I'm doing pretty good since switching the dosage of Lamictal from 200mg at night, to 100mg at night and 100mg in the morning.
My body temperature is still really warm compared to others around me, and it's really humid right now too.
I just can't wait for Fall to finally get here and cool this place the heck down.
Between the mid 80's temps and humidity, I don't feel like I ever dry out after taking a shower. At least not until several hours after I've fallen to sleep.
Whew, I just checked the Post "Title" and found a spelling mistake that might've actually helped someone pinpoint who I was.
A coworker's last name is also Fry, but it's spelled differently, and he's a guy I can't stand.
If I had a choice between working with a Duck and this guy, I'd take the Duck. A sack of hammers is more useful than this guy is.
Where I come to express thoughts or rant or write a bunch of crap down just for the sake of doing it.

Here's Johnny!
Ok, I'm not Johnny, nor is the guy I'm referring to...
or at least I don't think he is... Perhaps he is?
Actually, it's a guy I met on YouTube almost a year ago, who was struggling with his own Bipolar problems, and after a lot of difficulty, he removed all of his online accounts, and "disappeared".
When I saw another Bipolar guy online at YouTube, and saw his face, I thought it was him. So I sent him a message to confirm it, and it was indeed the same guy.
So, I want to say, "welcome back". I won't post his YouTube channel, yet, until I get his permission to post a link.
Then when I get his OK, it'll be over at the right, just like the link to my channel is. Although, I haven't really utilized my channel for quite a while.
I'm still pondering various things to record, but I have too many things that I "need" to do, and too many things that I "want" to do vs. things that I'd "like" to do.
Since my folks are in town from my uncle's funeral still, I haven't done too much of my own hobbies for awhile.
Although, my daughter has indicated that I need to get on my wood lathe and make some "Harry Potter" type wands for her birthday party.
So, I suppose after work today, if I'm not shopping for her birthday presents, I'll be out in my shop turning out wands.
I'm doing pretty awesome today, and with the exception of the humidity and heat, I think today will be a good day.

Hooray! I got an office at corporate head quarters!
Ok, the office isn't totally mine. It's shared with another developer on our team, which is OK.
We work differently, and usually at different times, so we'll have a day or so where we'll be isolated in our office.
I saw my shrink today, and he got on my case about trying to quit the Effexor on my own.
He did lower the dosage from 150 mg to 75 mg. Hopefully, my emotional state will stay stable at that dosage.
My libido is already doing much better, and I don't feel like I have to struggle to breath in order to get interested in sex.
I'm working later than my cohorts today, as I really want to finish what I'm working on so that I can get the changes into the code base for our next release, which should be Monday, August 3, 2013. (Adding year & date to help with time perspective).
Ellie told me that while driving today with my dad, that he got the shits and couldn't hold on long enough to make it home. So she had to work at washing the car seat, and will work on cleaning up his clothes.
I feel really sorry for her, but I'm also glad that my folks are here for the time they are, as it might be the last time that we get to see either of them before they pass on.
They are both very, very frail. In fact, I'd say, almost more frail that my uncle was earlier this year.
Well, I need to get back to what I'm working on, verify everything I'm working on, check in the code, and go home.
Ellie's got a meeting tonight, so I need to go home and cook dinner.

Final Uncle Update...
Last week was an "off" week for me blogging.
Here's why:
Tuesday, I visited my Uncle during my lunch hour, and he was in lots of pain, and the Hospice nurses had him all but soaking in a morphine bath, as he was writhing around in pain.
After seeing him, I went home and tried to work, but I was really, really sad! It was a sadness, like I haven't had in over a year.
Also, I was trying to stop my Effexor dosage that week too, which is probably what made me more vulnerable to that sadness.
About 3-4 hours after coming home, I received a call that my uncle had passed on.
Ellie and I went over to his apartment, and he was definitely gone. He was very yellow as though he was jaundice. I'm going to cut this off here, since I don't want to cause anyone to gag.
The next morning, a good friend and I emptied his apartment, and Ellie began work on the funeral arrangements.
My Uncle had, several years earlier, taken care of all his funeral arrangements as much as possible. He even paid for almost all of it. He also had several thousand dollars in his account that we were able to use to pay for the cost difference from his original setup to now. Heck, there was enough there to fly my parents out here for the funeral, which was good. My dad is the last member of his immediate family, aside from my cousins.
The viewing was just family, which was OK, and everyone there was positively affected by my Uncle.
When we went to the cemetery for the grave side service, the local VFW chapter did such a great service there, I was in awe!
Since I was the only family in the area for my Uncle, I received his military honors, Flag & Three Shell casings from his 21 gun salute.
The whole day for the funeral services was very, very good and without all the humidity, I'd have been very comfortable.

(Uncle update) Maybe today was a bad day to stop the last half of my Effexor dosage...
As of a few months ago, I was on 300mg of Effexor, and after I really started on Lamictal, I dropped to 150mg.
This week, I planned on dropping the other 150mg of the drug.
Due to my uncle's worsening state, I wonder if this was a good idea.
I'm a whole lot more emotional right now.
I know that death brings a certain amount of sadness & emotion with it, but damn, I don't need any more assistance with it because my emotional medications are different too.
Several hours ago, I got a call from the hospice workers, that they were there with my uncle and that he was in a lot of pain. They also suggested that we bring some extra pillows and if possible a fan.
I had already planned on going over to see him around lunch today.
When I told Ellie, she wanted to go with me, so I figured she would get things ready while, I was getting wrapped up with my current bit of work/code.
An hour later, Ellie still wasn't ready, the kids were busy with chores she gave them. I got a bit upset, and told her that I really wanted to go, and that I was about ready to go without them.
Ellie drove, as I wanted her to drop me off, then they could run across the road to Wal-Mart and get him some pillows and an oscillating fan.
When I got to his room, he was barely dressed, because it was so hot, and was very well medicated. His room is on the east side of the building, and they've been trying to keep the door closed so that it'd be quieter for him. That only made the room hotter, so when we got the fan setup, it was more comfortable for him.
Along with the fan, Ellie also got him three very large & fluffy pillows with pillow cases, so that way he could possibly be as comfortable as possible.
I don't know why I'm so emotional right now. Damn.
Tears are just welling up, and I can't tell if it's because of being off the final leg of Effexor or if it's just hoping that my uncle is finally going onto the next world.
Just a bit ago, when I took my afternoon pain pill, I took the Effexor. If I didn't have that additional emotional support/control, I'd be a real mess. Worse than I am now.
I'm glad that my uncle is going on, as I know he's missed his parents, brothers and sister. He's the last of them, aside from my own father.
For the past 8-10 years or so that I've been around my uncle, whenever he's had pain or problems around his mid section, he's always sworn it was cancer, and it was his turn to die. None of this ever turned out to be true.... Not until December 2012, when he was in a lot of pain and a doctor finally looked at the cancer markers in his blood. By that time, it would've been several months that he had to live.
As I previously blogged, my uncle underwent several rounds of chemo therapy, and he lived well until the past few months... now the past week he's gone downhill so fast, that it's a wonder that we saw him at all passing this far.
I'm just so fucking sad!
Not depressed, but fucking sad...

Uncle Update...
Late Friday afternoon, I was using the restroom.. (Just what you wanted to know) When the phone rang, and I obviously couldn't answer it.
When I attempted to listen for a message, none was left.
A few minutes later, my wife called my cell phone and told me that my Uncle was admitted to the hospital.
We both asked each other... wasn't he supposed to be on hospice?
Turns out he wasn't on hospice, and when he was going to, several months ago, he recovered enough to restart Chemo.
So, they started to treat him at the hospital. Which, usually isn't a problem... Actually, I don't have a problem with it myself. I just feel bad because it's prolonging the length of time that his body is breaking down.
According to his doctor, he was pretty close to death that night, and the treatment he received was only a bandage on a much, much larger problem. That, even with all the advanced science and medicine, they cannot prevent.
About this time last year, if you'd asked my uncle if he wanted to be kept alive like this, he'd have answered "no".
Since I am his primary power of attorney, I signed him up for Hospice care on Saturday afternoon.
I called and spoke to one of my cousins, and he agreed it was time that it was done, because his dad hadn't been answering the phone recently. When he had answered the phone, he wasn't very coherent to who was on the phone.
At this point, I can only pray that the end comes for my uncle very, very soon. I almost expect it in the next couple of weeks, instead of months.
Most people don't want anyone to die, and I don't wish for his death, but I do pray for his passing from this life to the next.

In a negative funk...
I'm not depressed, but I'm just kind of negative and in a "I don't give a SHIT" mood.
My family made it to Chicago safely.
I've wasted so much time today on YouTube that I'm not sure why I should continue sitting here trying to work. Not only YouTube, but also playing Spider Solitaire and Mahjong.
I'm in such a dis-interested mood today, I even clicked over to another tab and sat there looking over news headlines for a while instead of typing here.
Well, that's all today... I'm just not giving a shit.

I need a hat with a scrolling marquee to indicate my mood/thoughts for others.
Unless you're dead, I'm certain you've seen the bumper stickers that start off with "I'd rather be...(insert hobby/fishing/etc.)"
Right now, I'd rather be doing anything but what I'm doing.
I'm not feeling so hot, my head hurts like a mother fucker.
I need to get my work done, and it's not difficult... Rather, it's just very irritating. I need to setup variables for strings in one of my reports, so that the localization team can run the translations against the information.
Again, the "smart" guy on the team sent me info... "Hey, here's how to fix it... I put details into Tracking # 111..."
I looked at the Tracking information, and it then points to the code tracking software's internal tracking numbers.
What I found, when I finally looked everything up could've been summed up as... "Hey, open this module, and look at this file."
Would that have been so hard to say/type? I think not...
Well, I feel both tired, and unwell. The post nasal drip/allergy thing is going on again.
Lucky me... Well, the dogs are at home with this time, as they don't travel outside of camping and visits to Ellie's folks house.
Right now, there's a DVD from NetFlix with my name on it... Rather, it's got Dr. House's name on it. It's season 2 disc 5, and I'd rather be watching it, than doing what I'm even doing right now... blogging.
Well, I'll finish up my work, test out the changes, check in the code, and go to the pharmacy and finally veg out watching House.

I'm not depressed, I just in a bit of a strange state today.
Last night, I believe I fell to sleep sometime around 10:30 PM or so. Only to be woken up just after 1:30 AM so that I can get dressed and take my family to the airport. They're going on a trip to Chicago as part of their girls club.
After dropping them off, I drove back home, and started work... Rather, I got logged into the VPN, got all of my daily applications, but the compilers online.
Only to find out a little over an hour later that the meeting at 8:00 AM had been cancelled.
If the boss had sent that out the night before, I'd have gone right to bed, and probably wouldn't have the low lying headache I have now.
Granted, after I found out the meeting was cancelled, I went to bed anyway, and slept until 10:00 AM.
So, I'll work until around 3:30-4:00 PM today, and that'll still be around 8 hours for the day.
I'm tired, and have been so highly distracted, I've done nothing for a over an hour, but watching various YouTube comedy videos & ventriloquists.
Crap, I realized that I need to call the home that my uncle is in, so that I can see if I should remove the TV, DVD player & movies from his room.
Looks like the old boy is going to hurt himself trying to rearrange all that shit, when there's no where for any of that to go.
Well, I'm tired, and I don't want to write much more today.
Good luck in your own life!

Uncle update... "Hey, I've got an eletrical problem I need help with"
It's been ages since I posted anything about my Uncle.
Several weeks ago was his 83rd birthday, and he was pretty with it that night.
We took him to do some shopping, so that he could get the few things he needed for his apartment.
After the shopping, we went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner.
He didn't each much, which is what I expected, but he enjoyed himself a lot.
We took him back to his "home", and had some raspberry shortcake. (Same as strawberry shortcake, but using raspberries instead. It helps when you grow & pick the raspberries yourself.)
So far, so good, right? He was very much there as to who he was and what was going on around him.
A few days ago, we took him to Chinese food for dinner, and before we could leave, we had to assure him that all the food and where he stayed at was being paid for and everything was "legal". He was certain he was doing illegal things.
Last night, I get a call from him. He said that he needed some help and that he had an "electrical problem".
When I arrived at his apartment, it turned out to be him trying to figure out why his wheel chair couldn't be used a toilet. There wasn't a hole under the pad he sits on, so that he could go poop.
I explained that there was a toilet in the bathroom, then showed it to him. After a minute, he poked his head out, that he needed help.
He wasn't certain how to use the toilet, even though he had his trousers down and everything.
It could've been a pretty damn funny thing, but he wasn't much there or aware of how things work....
So I had to tell him to sit down on the toilet seat and he could make things work.
Happily, he got this done, and didn't need any additional assistance.
It's kind of stressing on me, as I don't want to be the guy to wipe my uncle's ass. I mean, I could do it, but it's not my place... He lives there to get assistance, not for me to run over on a regular basis to help him shit.
For the "electrical problem" was actually the pull string connected to the alert/alarm next to his bed had broken.
The ceilings in the apartment are pretty high and I couldn't reach it without a ladder, and again, they have a maintenance guy on staff to fix these types of things.
So, myself an another staff member had to tell him that it'd have to wait until tomorrow.
This morning, he called and spoke to Ellie to confirm our home address and to give us his address.
After speaking to her, he called my cell phone, then called my desk phone at my employer's office.
One of my coworkers, noticed the call and told me that someone had tried calling. He gave me the # and I confirmed it was my "demented uncle".

I could probably really laugh at this, if someone was relating the story to me...
but it's the story that I'm living...
Things almost couldn't get better...
With the exception that Ellie and the girls are going to Chicago for several days.
Ellie saw the doctor who did the hysterectomy the other day, and he said that everything looked great!
She's now allowed to swim and .. ahem... do "extracurricular activities".
So, we tested the "waters" last night, and again this morning. (w00t!)
Life is much nicer when you can experience that level of intimacy with your spouse.
Work has been going good today, and yesterday, it took a few hours of goofing off before I really got into it really well.
Today, I'm not as fast as I want to be, but part of that is due to the type of report I'm designing.
This report, if I build it, examines the Windows event logs for specific errors, and additionally parses out the error text to determine what the cause of the error is. Generally the cause of the error is not due to our application, but something outside of it, like Windows errors/permissions/disk full/etc.
A bipolar friend of mine stopped by yesterday, eating a DQ ice cream cone, while I was working... The pompous ass didn't bring me one, and to make matters even more of an insult, he stopped by on Sunday to chat, and asked for a bowl of ice cream.
Actually, I don't mind. He's a lot of fun, and right now he's got a lot of stress. He and his family have been living with his in-laws for a month or two now. His in-laws are... pious... yet... very much not understanding what it's like to be bipolar.
Now, I can say I know what it's like to be bipolar, but each bipolar person's experiences are different, but in general, without are medications, we do some freakishly bad things.
Some of us get into financial problems, others sexual/relationship problems, others get really angry/irritated at just about everything & everyone around them, and often we just uncontrollably burst into tears over anything and everything too. The highs are crazy and you feel like you can do anything, while the lows feel like you're going to die and you want to. Unfortunately, some bipolar people do...
Heck, due to the sleep problems, I went through sleep studies, own a cpap machine and sleep with it every night. (Almost... depends on those "extracurricular activities".)
Now, having the CPAP machine, allowed me to sleep really really good for several weeks. Then I was at it again with irregular sleep patterns weekly. I just knew that I was going to be awake 1-2 nights a week without any way to control it, except for sleeping pills, which made me sleep 12 hours or more a day.
So, when I finally got put onto bipolar meds, my life evened out, and I feel great again! (Mostly... Hehe. It's hard to actually be "great" or "normal" all the time for anyone... but at least I feel like I'm part of who I was several years ago.)

Heck, I felt like I was behind a sliding glass door for almost a year as I watched my day to day life being played out, without the ability to really control it.That was the hardest thing for me. I couldn't seem to understand why I didn't feel "normal". I just knew there was something wrong, and even being on antidepressants wasn't good enough.

Next up... "Bender and his hard-shelled whooping terrier, Dr. Zoidberg!"
I need to pull out my Futurama DVD's again so that I can watch the Episode "The day the earth stood stupid".
It's where they go to a pet show, and Bender attempts to win first place by entering Dr. Zoidberg as his "hard-shelled whooping terrier". :)
What's hard these days, is that unless you have the seasons on DVDs, it's hard to find the episodes... I think... Honestly, I don't know... I just know it's hard for me to find videos showing some of my favorite parts of the shows, to pass onto coworkers & friends.
I guess, some of the things that really strike me as funny aren't funny for the "popular" people who put together blogs & sites that they dedicate to things like shows... Some of these people don't get all the humor, and need someone to point it out to them.
Like, I remember pointing out all the humor in Shrek to my wife when we were watching it. Like the opening scene, and Shrek flushes the "outhouse". (With very, VERY few exceptions, I've hardly seen an outhouse with plumbing to flush.) Or how momma bear is a rug in Farqad's room later on.
Well, not only did my family miss me, the dogs missed me too.
My sheltie.. OK, the family's sheltie, really missed me a lot.
Today, when I was waking up, I had my hand hanging over the edge of the bed, and he came up and nuzzled me. Basically, it alerted me that 1. That someone else let the dogs out and then back in. 2. That it was after 7:00 AM.
Well, when I was getting ready, he wouldn't leave me alone, so I put him on our bed. (He can't really seem to jump up on our bed... I don't know why...)
There he followed me around the room, reaching out to touch me whenever he could. It was hard to get dressed and ready, with him bugging me for attention so much.
The kids acted like they hadn't seen me the night before, giving me big hugs and hanging on when I tried to walk about the house.
Well, they went with Ellie to Ellie's doctor appointment and I'm just waiting for them to return.
I spent a bit too much time not working/goofing off this morning than I should've.
It's a bit of a SQUIRREL day.
I am feeling pretty good/awesome though.

They're home!! They're home!! w00t
My family made it home safely from their camping trip!
I just wished that my legs & back weren't so dang sore from picking and canning 22 Quarts of Green beans on Saturday.
Saturday morning, I got started picking those darn green beans, from bush bean plants, and by the time I was 3/4 of the way done, I couldn't stand much longer... My back was sore, and my legs hurt really badly.
I hate picking bush beans, as you have to lean over to the ground to pick them. If you plant pole beans, then you need to setup strings & what not. This sometimes causes problems watering, because the pole beans then become a wall that the sprinklers cannot penetrate. Yet, the pole beans are much easier for me to harvest. I don't have to bend over to the ground to harvest them.
Well, I got enough beans, after tipping & tailing them, to can 22 quarts jars full. That's a lot of beans! To put it into perspective, before cleaning, there were about 8 gallons of beans. (Yes, 4, 2 gallon buckets full)
Once they were all sorted & cut and canned, there's 5 1/2 gallons of beans.
That's only 3/4 of the plants!!! Perhaps the family will pick the rest and we can process the rest tonight.
Well, there's laundry for them to do, and some dishes... As I didn't get a chance to get all the pans that I used for canning cleaned up before they got home.
Ellie and I had a great reunion last night, and that's all I'll say about that. Which is good, considering I had some pretty intense dreams about her while she was gone.
I sat with the kids, eating pizza last night for dinner, and we talked about what they did camping. It was fun for all of us, as we haven't sat down to talk before they went camping.
About 12 days or so, and then this Thursday, they're going to leave again, but they'll be back on Sunday or Monday, I believe.
Much shorter trip, but by the time they return, Ellie and I hope she'll be healed enough that the Doctor will give us the final "go ahead" so that business can return to "normal" if you get my drift. (A hysterectomy is pretty intense thing for a woman to go through and can make things a bit rough on a couple.)
For some reason today, I can't get a comfortable temperature for me to work in today.
I find that I switch on the AC unit, then the fan.. then turn off the AC, then the fan... then to turn the fan on again, then the AC, then find I'm irritated by the fan blowing on me, so I reverse it, which then cools me off really badly again. So I turn them both off, then after 2-5 minutes, I start to sweat again or feel like I'm boiling.
When we start to get cooler temperatures again, I'll pull the AC out of the window, and I should be able to control the temps up here better again.
Well, I'm really happy my family is home again, and I want to get done with my work today, so that I can spend more time with them before their next trip.

What's this? Two meals in one week? - Zoidberg (Futurama)
I love Futurama... I'm sure I have stated that before, but I really do.
However, the humor from it, at this point, isn't going to help me much today... I don't think.
My head is starting to hurt again, and only one side is aching... So most likely, I'll be into my pain pills soon, and perhaps more ice cream.
Although, as I stated the other day, I haven't been hitting on the ice cream very hard.
I noticed this morning, as I pulled on an XL shirt, that it wasn't as snug around my mid section as it was last week when I wore it.
So, I suppose I should throw a party and eat some cake & what not to celebrate, eh? That way, in a week or two, when I work off that sugar, I can do it again.
I almost compared it to bulimia, but thought, I'd get hate letters... (Wait! I just did! D'oh!)
He-he... I had to add "D'oh" to my browser's spell check dictionary. Kind of funny, but it is in many modern dictionaries now.
Today is almost a ...SQUIRREL!... day.
I know what I need to do, and am working up my motivation to get it done.
We had to get many defects fixed this week and spend more time doing our own Q&A, as someone thought it prudent to cut funding and fire our Q&A guy... Not our boss, but someone a ways above him.
Although, these days, with how much traction our tool is getting, we need Q&A to help us not miss things, like misspelled words, or false positives for our reporting on technical problems. (i.e. like if an OS is supported, when it really isn't.)
I thought to myself, prior to writing this entry, that I would go through and work on fixing/completing all of the items currently assigned to me, then I was going to start tackling a majority of the usability issues with our UI.
After all, the entire team finally has licenses to the UI plug-ins that we're using.
What a pain that was. I could look at the code, see what needed to be done to fix it, but was unable to fix it and test it, because I didn't have a freakin' license.
Today, is Friday, and in two days, I get to see my family again! w00t!
I have had some crazy dreams involving Ellie, and won't she be surprised!? heh heh. :)
The kids will be fun to have here, as I'll have someone to joke with and get into trouble with again.
I have enjoyed my time by myself, and the quiet times that I've spent reading books on the Kindle or doing various puzzles in one of those Variety Puzzle books. (crosswords and such)
Also, just letting my mind wander its own journey sometimes.
Besides, after watching and reading through Shakespearean books/movies, I have started connecting with my writing mind again.
Not just touching the surface of my writing creativity, but actually thinking as a writer again. Thinking in prose/poetry, or in terms of stories. Not to mention that I've had some pretty vivid dreams, not just of Ellie and I, but of things I could use for stories.
I love dreams, as I've had so many dreams come true, and so many have been inspiration for things that I've done.
Like, I remember dreaming of a girl that would be dressed in blue coming down the stairs of my apartment, about one week before my date with Ellie. She was wearing a blue dress! :)
Don't discount dreams.

Ever feel like you're slipping backwards on a muddy slope without any way to hold on?
Today, that's exactly how I feel.
I want to be upbeat and lively, but I'm having a really, really hard time doing just that.
Yesterday, I was feeling really nauseated... I mean, REALLY nauseated.
So bad that I dry heaved into the trashcan in my office. Eventually, I sent a message to my boss telling him that I was going to take the rest of the day off, because I was feeling so ill.
My post nasal drip is still going on, and in short, I'm starting to feel miserable again.
Well, this morning, I thought, "Hey, I'll be OK".
It started like that...
Until I saw that the boss sent me an email with a document from various people who've run our tool and had input/comments to make on it.
One of the stupidest things that I've seen from these guys, multiple times is that our tools' Reports are invalid, and to refer to their Documentation to prove otherwise.
So, I do. I download the latest version of their Official Documentation. Which turns out to support exactly what our tool has done.
It seems as though these guys really have NO idea what they're talking about, or really only THINK, they know what they're talking about.
On an upside, I feel like I've lost weight, since my family has been out of town.
My diet recently:
Again, this week, I've been using my alarm clock, so that way I can start work early and stop early, as the heat really gets to me. Except this week. The heat's been pretty cool, compared to last week.
My sleep hasn't been all that grand recently... I've been sleeping, but sometimes, I'm only sleeping 5-7 hours/night.
This week, I've been going to bed earlier than last week.. Typically around 8-9 PM every night.
What's odd, is that I lie there, but cannot fall to sleep, so I read books on my Kindle Touch.
On Tuesday night, I started Romeo & Juliet by Shakespeare. (Well, duh, who else wrote it, eh?)
I was on a Shakespeare movie kick recently, so I thought, why not read the original plays & works?
Jane Austin's stuff is pretty good to go through, although, if I'm not careful when I'm beginning her stuff, I get lost. She doesn't do a lot of repetitive use of her characters' names from page to page. Either that, or I'm just not paying enough attention.
I guess I tend to skim/read through many, many books.
Which, I suppose, is why I have re-read through a couple of Acts in Romeo & Juliet so far, as I felt loss after finishing one or wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Reading a play is much different than watching one.

- Breakfast: Usually 1 Pancake/Sausage on a stick. (See previous post.. mmm mmm.)
- Lunch: Perhaps a P&J sandwich for lunch, if anything for lunch at all.
- Dinner: Some cheap $1.00 something microwave dinner.
- 1 bowl of ice cream a day... If that. (I know, right? Who'd have thunk I wouldn't always have Ice-cream everyday!?)

I don't have much inspirational to post today.
Since posting more inspirational topics, I noticed that my blog is getting more attention.
That's funny, because on YouTube, the opposite behavior happens.
Those who post videos of their Bipolar struggles, usually get lots of hits, and the moment that they start posting videos discussing God or their religious convictions, the views go down.
Today, I thought about posting something humorous, but as I thought about what I could be funny about, it reminded me about being in a religious study class.
The class itself, was actually Old Testament studies, and the teacher suddenly switched topics.
He brought up how he was a young man, and getting ready to leave on a mission. Just before he left, he thought he should visit one of his church leaders about the way he'd been feeling about the jokes he used to tell. For his visit, he saw this church leader at his office place of business.
The leader then asked him to tell him one of his off color jokes. Now my instructor said that he sat there for probably 5-10 minutes before this church leader asked him again to tell him a joke.
Well, he finally told him a joke, and he said he couldn't remember the content of it when he told the class about this story. He was then asked if he really thought it was funny.
His church leader, then opened the door and told him to turn around and bend over. Our instructor complied, and then received a good kick in the butt out the door, and told to stop.
All of the secretaries & people working outside of the leader's office saw this, and my instructor was very embarrassed.
After he related this story to me, I thought about the manner of joking that I had been involved in, both before I married Ellie and after.
I felt bad, and I even called Ellie's dad to apologize to him about some of the jokes that I told around him.
Since that time, I have really struggled hard to not involve myself with dirty jokes.
My coworkers, often get to joking, and when it starts to turn dirty, I leave. To some of them, it's a bit of game, to see if they can crack me, so that I'll join in their joking.
I can be proud to say that I can stay away from it.
If I could find this instructor, I'd like to thank him for his sudden thoughts of inspiration to share his story with the class.

Lord, it is good for us to be here...
A little over 13 years ago, when I was 25ish, I was asked to give a talk to the congregation at church.
I was freshly divorced, attending a young single adult congregation. I had been alone and celibate for nearly three years, from the time that my ex-wife had left me.
During the time that I was alone, I really discovered God, and when I joined this younger congregation, I felt that I was in the right place, at the right time.
So, when I was asked to talk, I had just finished reading through the book of Matthew, in the New Testament, and the line "Lord, it is good for us to be here" really stood out to me.
Here it is in context:
On Saturday night, we went to dinner and a movie. During the movie, I felt strongly compelled to reach down a hold Ellie's hand. I was SCARED! I'd never felt this way about anyone else before. Not even my ex-wife. So, I grabbed her hand, and we never really let go until our date was over.
The next day, at church, I sat behind her, and passed her a note, asking her if we could go out again... She said "yes".
So, over the next few weeks, I tried to get her on the phone, but she was busy with school so I left messages with her folks. I figured, if she said "yes" to another date, I'd try to contact her weekly to get my second date.
I finally got with her almost a month later, and we really clicked. It was like we were waiting for each other.
Eventually on one of our dates, about a 6-7 weeks after we met, I was really quiet and she asked me what I was thinking... So I spilled my guts....
To wind up this story, we got married about 3 1/2 months after first meeting.
Our marriage has had rocky moments, but I still love Ellie now as much as I did then.
God Bless!

So, when I was asked to talk, I had just finished reading through the book of Matthew, in the New Testament, and the line "Lord, it is good for us to be here" really stood out to me.
Here it is in context:
1 And after six days Jesus taketh aPeter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,2 And was atransfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. (Matthew 17:1–4 KJV).
I started to speak to my young single peers, and I expounded to them, that it was good that we were there, in a chapel dedicated to the Lord.
Feeling moved by the Holy Ghost, I then explained how I had been named before I was born, but not the name that my mother had expected to give me. (I posted this previously. Read it here.)
Also, my over the years, my mother often told me about the dedication prayer at the chapel that I had attended as child. That it was foretold that many great leaders would pass through its doors. Now this is true, many great leaders have passed through its doors to go on into the higher leadership of our church.
Do I consider myself to be a great leader?
These days, I question it greatly.
Back then, as I stood before that congregation, I felt that I was going to be a great leader unto many of them.
Most of the congregation was younger than I was and I was considered an "old man" at 25.
I was able to share my experiences with them.
Ellie, my wife, was not a very active member of that congregation. On a Monday, she showed up for an hike up a local butte. (I know it looks like butt, but it's pronounced beaut, like beaut-i-ful.)
When I saw Ellie, I knew that I had found the person I was going to marry. That night, after the hike, we decided to head over to someone's house to watch Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail, and eat pizza. Which I funded... (Hey, I was making 28k-29k/year as single guy at the time, and I had extra $ on me all the time, since I had a roommate and we split costs.)
As we started grabbing pizza and seats, I noticed that someone else had sat next to Ellie on the couch, and I offered the guy the corner seat at the couch, as the "most comfortable" place to sit, so that I could sit next to Ellie. :)
I was so compelled to ask her out, that I almost pulled my Palm Pilot out to ask her out. (Yes, I was a geek back then, and carried a PDA, long before Smart Phones)
It was probably better that I didn't. Aside from looking like a geek, I didn't want the other guys there to know that I wanted to know Ellie better. (Dating in a young congregation like that was almost like fighting a battle. I'd seen some guys/gals sabotage future relationships in the interest of attracting someone's attention.
Many of us referred to make-up as "War Paint", as many of the gals were always looking for their future husbands.
When I told Ellie that later on that I was going to use the Palm Pilot to ask her out, she said she'd been embarrassed if I had.
So I called her at home, the next day and we made a date for Saturday night.
This was my third date for the week. I had planned on taking one girl to lunch on Weds afternoon, and I had another date planned with a girl to go bowling on Friday night, then another one with Ellie Saturday.
Now, I know many of you are going...
Holy COW!Were you a player?
No!I just figured out that I hadn't really met enough girls to choose one and settle down. I also knew what I was looking for in a wife, after my previous marriage.

"It'd be nice to be married."I knew I took her by surprise. At first, she said no... As we continued to go out on dates that week, she started asking about plans to get married.
To wind up this story, we got married about 3 1/2 months after first meeting.
Our marriage has had rocky moments, but I still love Ellie now as much as I did then.

Wow, have I been negative!!!
I've been really but negative and not feeling well for quite a while.
After my post yesterday, I thought about how I've been feeling/acting recently.
Now, I know pain can make us do things that we wouldn't normally do and make us feel like garbage.
No one that I know, acts like pain is great to go through.
Last week, I was "OK", but not really.
I had a lot of stress from my family getting ready to go on their camping trip. It seemed every time I turned around, I was getting stopped during my work time to help do something. What frustrated me here, was that if I'd been working from the office, they couldn't bother me, but whenever I'm working from home, it's like I get pegged all the time, as though I wasn't working.
Granted, last week, I think I had the same type of headache going on that I had over the weekend. I also had the news that a whole different Orthopedic Doctor told me that there wasn't anything they could do for me, because I was too young. The only thing he suggested was for me to contact my primary care giver for weight loss assistance.
What frustrates me about the last suggestion, is that my wife and I see the same doctor. He prescribes her meds to help her lose weight, and me... well, all I get is "Do MORE exercise" and "eat less".
It's an oxymoron to tell a person with arthritis pain in their knees to exercise. Seriously, isn't that what causes the pain in the first place? I know that's what causes most of my pain.
Circling back to my mood/attitude, I want to do something different with my blog, aside from complaining about my Bipolar self.
I think I'd like to occasionally post something more positive, like I did yesterday.
Not like I want to preach to people, but to give hope and inspire.
Heck, isn't that one of the reasons why we're here? To help lift each other up?

Coincidents?
Several years ago, I was asked to speak the congregation at church.
The topic I was given was "The Lords Tender Mercies".
I'm certain that many you who've read my blog entries, up till now, would expect this to be the last thing anyone would want me to do. Considering my swearing and general negativity... (Recently)
What I wound up doing, the day that I was writing this talk, was listening to music on my computer and doing various research on the topic.
As I listened to the MP3 player, I started paring down to just instrumentals, and finally down to one song.
This song starts out very slow & quiet. You can hear the drones starting to fire up, followed by the chanter playing "Amazing Grace". As the song progresses, additional pipers join in, and the music & sound swells!
The song itself was written by John Newton.
He was involved with the Slave Trade in the 1740's.
During his time as a sailor, he was known as a very profane person, who even shocked other sailors with his words and behaviors.
On one of his trips in 1748, he was in a violent storm. It was during this storm that he begged for mercy from God.
This didn't end his slave trading career, but it did eventually lead him to stop around 1755 and pursue Christianity.
A movie by the name of "Amazing Grace" was filmed, that showed how he helped to influence Britain's involvement in the Slave Trade.
The term "tender mercies" shows up in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
In The Book of Mormon, Nephi is writing about his father's preaching, and how the people want to take his life.
Here is how his testamony is strengthened: (1 Nephi 1:20)
Now when, I finished delivering my speech, I sat down, knowing that God had directed me to say those things which were needed to those in attendance that day.
What struck me as "Coincidental" was that I watched shortly after how many others referred to "John Newton" and "Amazing Grace".
This is referring to other speakers at church, not just in my own congregation, but also people on TV/Radio.
I was thrilled that I had been shown the "Tender Mercies" and others had also received the same inspiration.
God Bless you!

'Ow! My giant blue head!' -Megamind
Ok, so I'm not Megamind, although, I do love that movie.
So what if I love animated movies? I might be closer to 40 than to 30, but I love to watch those shows, and having kids makes it easier to enjoy them.
Well, the point with the quote containing "Ow!..." is that my head has been hurting the past few days.
Just about completely right above the eyes in the forehead... basically in the sinuses, where I was told by my family doctor... "... there's no such thing as a Sinus headache, they're all migraines..."
So, WTF does that mean to me?
It means, that there's very little they can or will do these days.
Yesterday (Sunday), I didn't go to church because I hurt so bad, and spent a great deal of the day with an ice pack on my head.
I think the temperatures outside reach into the 90's and so, I wound up with a heat pad around my head last night, sipping hot chocolate, because the heat felt good to my head & sinuses.
I should've taken a shower/bath yesterday, but wound up not doing it, even though, a nice hot bath often helps with my headaches.
Last night, after finishing a movie (I forgot which one it was), I got ready for bed, took a two Benadryl, put some of that vaporizer/Vicks stuff into the humidifier of my CPAP machine, and laid down.
Awhile later, I was asleep and only woke up to use the bathroom. While standing there, I thought.. Hey! It might be gone, only to have it start to hit me again, just before I laid back down again.
I did finally manage to fall back to sleep. I don't currently have much of a headache, although, I wouldn't be surprised if I got hit with another one today.
I suppose, the only thing I didn't do yesterday was to use my Oxygen (O2)... If Ellie were home, she'd have suggested that I use it.
I don't know if I use it enough when I get headaches, as much as I'd prefer to use pain pills.
The pain pills used to work really well, but now... I need more and more to get the darn headaches to go away.
I don't think that I'm addicted to the pills... at least not emotionally, but my body is very used to them.
The pain wasn't going away, and based on some similar headaches that week, I took two of my pain pills instead of the one that I was allotted to take a day.
My headache didn't get better, but my mood improved, and I was doing a bit more, instead of just pacing around the house with my ice pack strapped to my head and swearing.
Well, today, I'm doing OK, but I can feel that another headache might appear again.
My nose is runny today and I still have that nasty post nasal drip going on.
Too bad that I live in one of the states that REAL Pseudoephedrine requires a prescription to get. Instead of walking into a store and picking it up off the shelf and buying it.
I got tired of calling to get prescriptions for it, so I gave up trying to get it to use it. Although, right now, it might really help me during the day, and help me get through these headaches better, by drying up my sinuses.
To make matters worse for me today, my little office upstairs where I work, is already very warm, and the AC unit & fan together make me really cold, so I shut them off... only to start sweating again after 20+ minutes.
I just feel like I've entered some form/level of hell right now.
Dang it... I wish Ellie were here. She really soothes my nerves.

I'm awake!!! Mostly.
I had a hard time sleeping. So much so, that I slept through the 6:00 AM alarm clock that I'd been waking up to most of this week.
Normally I don't use the alarm clock, because my family is up and making so much dang noise that I can't sleep past 7:00 AM or so anyway.
My cell phone alarm reminding me to take my pills woke me up.
As you've seen this week, I've been battling some sort of allergy/cold with lots of post nasal drip. Well last night/this morning, I got woken up by pain the right sinus area just under the eye. Dang thing really hurt!
So, I got up, took some dayquil, and laid back down on my left side and fell to sleep.
This presents a problem... Sleeping on my left side shuts out my hearing to the world... mostly.
I've lost most of the hearing in my right ear. Been that way since I was a kid.
So, I got up and had breakfast "on a stick"... (Ok, for Jose Jalapeno... On a "steeck")
Ever see these things yet?
I found them at Wal-Mart. They're basically a pancake/sausage corn-dog-like microwave food.
Not too bad, they might even taste better if I had syrup to dip them in. I think my wife took the syrup with her camping, instead of making a fresh batch on the camp stove.
My left knee aches now, and I'm just in a tired, worn out state.
Today, I'm burning some sandalwood stick incense and it's not too bad. I usually prefer the scent of Opium.
I've never smoked/injected any drugs nor have I ingested any drugs that weren't prescribed to me. So, I don't know why I like the smell of Opium, but I do. Perhaps, if I wasn't a "Mormon dude" (I hate the term Mormon, but it's shorter than typing out the full name of my church.), I'd probably visit an Opium den.
Well, enough with that crap... I'm listening to the "Bar J Wranglers" singing cowboy songs, so I'm going to wrap up this blog entry and get to work...

AHA! I found some!!
While making toast, I grabbed my LED flashlight, and went to garage so that I could scan the shelves of food better.
I found several large cans of dry packed hot chocolate!
So, now I've got some hot chocolate at home to combat this dang post nasal drip.
If you want to know how to torture me, figure out a way to force my sinuses to drain into my throat.
ACK!
I've had a hard time working today, because of the post nasal drip and of course, from YouTube.
I finally closed the tab in my browser, and hope that I don't get bored or tempted to reopen a tab to YouTube.
I'm working on different defects now.
The XML parsing, I put on hold, so that we can run through out list of Defects and clean those up, instead of shoving more new technology into our tool(s).
Makes sense, eh?
Well, from a usability perspective, it makes great sense. If it's going to be quirky/unstable for the people who're trying to retrieve data from your database, they're going to stop using it.
For the end-user/customer, they're less concerned about what's available to Tech Support, and more interested into the new features/reports/diagnosis of their environment. This is where I've been semi-focused.
Well, I need to focus more on the smaller defects that need to be fixed, and I also need a license to the UI components we use, as they are expensive and they're expecting me to reach in and fix problems around those components. Really hard to do when you cannot build/compile them.
So, they're working on that, while I'm investigating everything else...
Time for more hot chocolate, and I hope that the nasal drip & chocolate mixture doesn't make me sick.

I almost wish I was working from the office today.
I work from an office all the time... Usually my home office.
Today, I wish that I was actually at the building.... Only for the following reason...
I have really bad post nasal drip right now, and they have a FREE hot chocolate dispenser there... and I'm out of hot chocolate at home.
Currently, I don't know if my post nasal drip is from a cold or from allergies.
I'm told that there shouldn't really be any allergy problems this time of the year for me... yet, here I am with slime dripping down my throat. (mm... tastes like chicken)
Actually, it makes me feel nauseated and the back of my mouth itches really badly. Drinking water only reminds me how badly it's irritated.
It's much cooler outside today, and it's nicer, but it also sucks. I want the crisp coldness of October when it's cool, but I appreciate it because the hot weather was just sapping me really badly.
I suppose, I could just drink/sip hot water, but who wants to do that? I suppose I could slurp lots of broth, but that gets expensive after a while, as broth doesn't come free/cheap.
Also, hot chocolate isn't that good for me either. Hey, I know it's got a lot of sugar, and as previously stated, I know I'm heavy.
Yesterday, my weight was 317, which is down from like 330+ (I think) from several weeks ago when I saw my GP's assistant, who was flipping out at my weight gain.
My weight loss is attributed to my stopping the Zyprexa.
Don't get me wrong, Zyprexa is a great medication and I miss it at times, as it used to knock me out at night, so that I could just fall to sleep.
These days, I'm starting to feel "normal" with just Lamictal and the Effexor, although, I'm going to drop the Effexor in another week or so, when I go up to 200 mg of Lamictal.
I'm just feeling.... Irritated today.
