I'm not talking about bullets, but many quotes usually involve taking bullets.
What I'm talking about is what I've been doing since Ellie and I have been married.
Every year after Christmas we have quite a LOT of candy, cookies, etc.
So, to help her, I usually take it to work or I eat a lot of it.
My metabolism is much faster than hers and it usually takes a LOT over a long period for me to start gaining additional weight.
Today as I was staring to munch on the rocky road, I realized that it is made with lots of chocolate and peanuts.
Two things that I know can cause me kidney stones.
I suppose, I can either junk the food, which would be the smartest, or I need to space things out.
Personally, I hate the idea of wasting food of any kind.
Although, perhaps it's better to give away or destroy the food that's bad for you or ...
Fuck it...
Where I come to express thoughts or rant or write a bunch of crap down just for the sake of doing it.

Taking them for the team... Even if it hurts you in the process.
With the New Year comes new things... again...
Ellie has always had weight problems...
When we were first married, she was very slender as far as usual frames go.
I mean, she wasn't thin, but she also wasn't a Big Bertha.
Just beautiful.
Over the years since we've been married, and even before we had children, she started getting heavier.
Now, the weight gain then wasn't bad, and I still considered her on the thin/medium size, not really close to Big Bertha.
It's been since Little Miss was born that the weight gain started getting well out of control.
After we bought our house, her weight started getting more and more out of control.
Now she's been diagnosed with pre-diabetes and needs to really start to make a much better effort to lose weight.
I joined weight watchers with her and I lost quite a bit of weight, and it helped me to keep in mind the food that I eat.
I lost and gained weight myself, but I have been pretty steady around 270 or so.
Several years ago, I was about 330, so this is a great place to be.
A few months ago, I was back up to the 290's, and I semi-consciously started eating differently.
Because of my pain medications, I know I needed to eat more fiber.
With that, I realized that I needed protein to go with it so I started eating Cottage Cheese with several canned pears or peaches.
I know that canned fruit isn't on the 100% diet fruit end of things, but who gives a shit?
Keeping your weight under control requires portion and self control, not following some fucking bunch of rules about what's perfect to eat and what's not.
Getting back to Ellie, she's tried Weight Watchers and does good there, only if she adheres to the plan... but...
She always falls back to, I want to eat that so I will.
Instead of just a bit at a time, she goes overboard.
She loves Cheeses so she'll $pend quite a bit on cheese, which is OK at times.
But she eats too much of it.
She also hates hearing from ANYONE that she's eating too much or the wrong types of foods.
Am I the pot calling the kettle black?
Sort of...
After all, I used to eat a bowl of ice cream every day for months & months.
Also, I've been known to buy and eat whole bags of M&M's, cookies, candies, etc. etc.
What's this all got to do with New things?
Well, Ellie is now working on another new type of diet.
I will I support this one too, because she needs to support...
Unlike some of the other dieting she's done in the past, she's going to try changing one type of meal at a time, instead of everything at one time.
After all my weight loss was done with my breakfast foods.
Hell, because of the breakfast changes I made, I also don't usually eat much during the day between breakfast & dinner.
Well, here we are with changes and new things for a New Year...
again...

I'm better today, but highly distracted by a distraction.
I slept longer and better last night than I have for a while.
Yesterday, I confirmed, by using Claritin, that I have allergy problems right now.
It might be from the Christmas tree being in the house for as long as it is, or perhaps there's something that's blooming or deciding to fuck me up this time of year. Not the first time this has happened.
I have allergy eye drops I'm using too, and my freakin eyes burn like hell when I use them.
Ellie says they're supposed to burn like hell if there are allergens in your eyes.
The arthritis is making my hands hurt like hell.
Mostly the left one at the base of my thumb.
On Sunday, my Ham radio club had their Christmas meeting/feast.
One of the OLD female club members was being a real bitch and Ellie wanted to take her down.
Oh well, I had to listen to Ellie rant all about it for about 2 hours.
I'm starting to wonder if the boss is looking for a way to dump my ass from the team or lay me off.
It's not a personal thing on his side.
It's good business sense.
My eyes feel tired as hell, and I just took some caffeine to see if that will help me wake up.
This afternoon, after work, I have to pick up the Misses and one of their friends and take them to piano lessons.
During the lesson, I'm going to the store to pick up stuff that we need here at home.
Not too bad to do, but I'm tired of hell of shopping at Wal-Mart...
But it's the only store in our small town that has all of the items that are on my list.
I sure as hell don't like the idea of driving to several different stores to go shopping and waiting through several different check-out lines.
Well, I really need to get my ass a bit more awake so that I can focus on work.

I feel terrible today.
Today it's not about pain.
Last night, I started experiencing some severe sinus irritation..
I tried to sleep but I only got up an hour or so later.
Feeling ill, I went to the bathroom expecting to throw up... but didn't.
Eventually, I crawled into the tub and filled it with very hot water and took a bath.
Seemed to help some, but not completely.
Decided that the post nasal drip was part of the cause so I took a Sudafed.
I did sleep until about the time my family was getting ready for school.
Now, as I'm trying to work, I feel really nauseated, I want to blow chunks and I'm really, really close to contacting the boss and telling him I really sick.
I might if I can't feel better in the next 30 minutes or so...

Second verse, same as the first!
OH sing it with me!
I'm Henry The Eighth, I am!
Henry The Eighth I am, I am!
...
Henry The Eighth I am!
Second verse, same as the first!
-Herman's Hermits
If you don't know that song, look it up. I'm sure there's a YouTube video for it.
The pretense here is that I'm in pain again...
Second and almost every consecutive verse is the same as the rest of the damn things.
I'm in pain.
Things went from being very, very painful in my right knee to my left knee.
About the same time that my right knee got bad, the arthritis in my hands got really bad too.
So bad that I couldn't sleep with how bad they were hurting.
It still seems to push me towards the feeling/action that I should retire from work, go on disability and try my hand as a writer again...
However, I don't have the shelter of Mommy & Daddy this time.
It'd be solely on Ellie and I to keep things paid up.
I did write up my children's book, which I need to really start shopping it around to be published.
It would sell better if it was in print than as an Ebook.
Parents like to show the kids pictures & flip pages while read them to their kids.
I did.
