Holy shit, I see what they mean!

My new pain regulation regimen uses 12 hour long lasting pain pills, and 5 MG of my original pain pills for break through pain.

Earlier this morning, about an hour after taking the 12 hour pill (which I hadn't been able to tell has been working or not...), my knee pain got so freakin' bad, that I wanted to take something, but I hadn't been getting very good response from a single 5 MG tablet, so I took the whole 10 MG tablet.

Wow, after a bit, I knew that I was flying high. Holy shit!

Good thing that I work from home most of the time.

Now, I could probably handle driving the car without a problem, as my "highs" like this are truly a stimulant type of situation instead of the drowsing type.

A bipolar friend, let's call her Sally, called a bit after, and she had been a drug user many, many years earlier, and I told her what I was going through and she started laughing.

Sally said that the pain must have been bad for me to take enough to get that effect, but I told her what I took and she wasn't surprised considering my history of pain meds & pain related to that knee.

She had been having problems since a new "doctor" appeared more worried for her "weight" instead of her mental health, so he took her off of almost all of her meds.  Well, she lost weight, but also started losing her sanity.

Her bipolar cycles have been really hard, and depression for her has been really, really hard.  We discussed movies we both watched while down.  I suggested "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?", because Ulysses keeps getting started up and on top, then gets the crap kicked out of him. (I know it's Everett, but Ulysses makes more sense to me, since I also read "The Odyssey".

It's not so much the story line alone that gets me feeling well, it's the little things that they throw in there as actors to make their characters more interesting.  Like "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", the actor who plays Pseudolus, Zero Mostel, is a genius character actor. (Pseudolus is "the lyingest, cheatingest, sloppiest slave in all of Rome")

If you haven't see the movie, please go rent or buy it!

What's hard about these shows, is that they are funny, but they're even funnier if you have someone else who loves the stupid/silly humor from these shows.  There's loads of stuff from these that each person finds funny, and throwing the comments about it back and forth is part of the fun with the right people.

Having someone to laugh along with helps more than antidepressants in my book.
