Shit.
It's been a tough week or two trying to work.
Even outside of work.
I've had a much harder time concentrating on (SQUIRREL!) things.
Well, not so much outside of work as while I'm (SQUIRREL!) working.
Part of it is that I'm highly distracted by surfing the web via my phone, so that I can lookup information that I don't want to do from my work computer.
At work, I'm cleaning up, rewriting/adjusting code for a report.
The original report was (SQUIRREL!) hard coded and was also written so that it would generate an error, despite what it's designed to do.
I don't like to have anything I'm responsible for to have false positives, nor do I like hard coded reports, where they should be extensible.
(SQUIRREL!)
This report requires an Exchange server, which I'm hosting on a Virtual Machine.
That's not the hard part.
The "hard" part is where I'm trying to remember how to write this type of code and how to establish the report's friendly results, and the final status for the report.
I'm not exactly sure HTF to this 100% anymore.
I hate this...
I used to be able to do these damn reports in my sleep and quick as possible.
Perhaps it's that I redesigned this for extensive testing parameters instead of just (A=B) Result=Error else Result=OK
These days, I wonder if my mind is completely FUBAR from bipolar meds & what not.
I don't move as fast as I used to, and my memory for these things is faulty.
It's a good thing, that my older report code is still in use.
I fall back on my old code ALL the time these days.
Almost in the manner a script-kiddy relies on the work of another person.
They take an existing bit of code/script, change it a bit, then publish it as their own.
Although in this case, it's my own code.
I feel like this is taking a long fucking time, because I'm:
- Building
- Copying to the server
- Running the test
- Tweaking the code based on the results
- Repeat steps 1-4 until you're fucking crazy
Well, I need to leave the fucking blog alone and take Tylenol to Little Miss at school.
She had her braces adjusted yesterday, and it hurts like a mother fucker... at least that's what she's conveying, but not in those words.
