Uncle Update.

This week he didn't go to chemo, as his Dr. wanted him to have a little bit of time off.


I spoke with the people at my uncle's care facility today.

He is progressing, but he's also not progressing.

Essentially, every time he goes in for chemo therapy and returns, he reverts on some of his progress.

Yesterday, when visiting him, he was doing really well and alert until he got his oxycodone for pain.  They gave him the full 10mg tablet and within 20 minutes or so, he was starting to slow down and go a bit dopey.

His body is very small compared to mine and he doesn't have much of a tolerance in his system for this med.

I suggested to the care facility to not give him the full 10mg of oxycodone at a time and give him 5mg every two hours instead.  This way he could be more conscious of what's going and possibly progress the way he should.
