I felt so successful with this basic loaf of bread, I needed to branch out. My family was used to having multi-grain breads, and I noticed more and more the different types of flours down the baking aisles in the grocery store. (Ok... a super Wal-Mart... Most of our small time shopping is done at the one here in our little city.)
Ellie and I had been out to dinner for our 15th Wedding Anniversary at the Outback Steak House. There, they serve a small loaf or two of their bread. It's a very good bread. If they can make a loaf like that, I could too!
A bit of searching (again), I found the a recipe for a bread that similar to theirs.
I added all but the food coloring.
Read on for the next episode of
adventures with The Bread Baker! (After reading the recipe, of course)
