For Valentines day 2012, my wife got me a miniature rose bush that had some really pretty red roses. Thinking that I might be able to keep it alive & bloom.
I'm proud to say, that it is still alive, and that I've gotten it to bloom several times.. but I've discovered that I have spider mites afflicting my flowers.
This year, I asked for another rose, this time it has brilliant yellow roses.
The rose came from Wal-Mart... Which is probably where I got the spider mites from this year.
I have a spray that a friend gave my wife, and I sprayed down all the plants I have up here, including my trees.
To list off my plants:
- A spider plant, hanging up over the top of my head.
- The two miniature roses, as described.
- A succulent type plant with very pretty little red/pink flowers.
- A yellow/orange Mum, that my wife didn't want.
- A maple tree that I plucked up from the railroad tracks last year that was just sprouting.
- A spruce that I'm trying to grow and like the maple, should be dwarfed like a bonsai tree.
I'm not exactly sure what to do about the mites, except to keep a closer eye on the plants, especially the roses and then to spray all the plants down when I find the little buggers infecting the plants again.
