A few things are interesting this week.
First, it appears that there's a "lot" of traffic here on my blog.
Six visitors for several days in a row is quite a record.
I'm not dissing anything, in fact, I'm glad some people found this and are reading it.
Hopefully things are helpful, both the dreadful, awful things I post in various emotional stages and those stupid funny things I post otherwise.
Finally, it's time for another Furious lawsuit.
I'm a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise. In fact, everyone in the house really likes it, including Ellie & the Misses. The tribute to Paul Walker in Furious 7 pretty much made most of us want to cry.
It was amazing to think that a large amount of the movie was filmed with his brothers standing in. I had a very, very hard time trying to determine when his brothers were there and when they weren't.
Getting to the Furious Lawsuit, this morning I see that Paul's daughter is suing Porsche for her dad's death. I agree about being upset about someone dying in an accident.
Personally, an accident is just that, an accident. Even if you had clean underwear before the accident they won't be clean after. ( Couldn't resist that old clean underwear reference. )
Now, I have not concerned myself with all the facts of the physical accident.
I've no idea if speed was a factor, if the roads were wet or oily, covered in gravel, etc.
What I am surprised about with this lawsuit, is that Porsche is being blamed for different "safety" features that "failed" in that accident.
At what time will our children sue the neighborhood bully for tripping them and causing a boo boo?
Or will that lawsuit be geared towards the shoe company because they weren't made with anti-trip technology?
I don't want to make this seem as though I'm picking on anyone in particular, I do though want to point out how quickly and easily it has become for these lawsuits.
If you're upset, then you're upset. To the rest of the people of the world, when suing such a large company, it feels like a attempted money grab.
Why then, shouldn't I sue my parents because they didn't realized I was bipolar and having emotional problems as a teenager?
Perhaps, people shouldn't be so Fast or Furious about what happens in life?
Where I come to express thoughts or rant or write a bunch of crap down just for the sake of doing it.

Why does everyone push for the weekend?
I'm all for having days off, but why push so hard for it?
Without looking for an actual answer, the answers to me are actually apparent.
Everyone loves a day off from their "routine" of work & school.
Lord knows I waited for the weekends when I was in school. I can only remember how miserable I was most of the time and really, really looked forward to the weekend.
Since I graduated in 1992, I can't say that I've really looked forward to the weekends/days off on a regular basis since I stopped working for a large retailer.
Not looked for or only wanted a weekend...
Maybe I can't really explain what I mean yet.
Since 2000 I've been married to Ellie and I always wanted to get away from work ASAP just to spend my time with her.
With our children being born a few years after we were married, it was the same way for me to come home to the entire family!
Pondering over my ideas and feelings towards the weekend, perhaps isn't about the weekend. Rather it's about trying to leave my current state of mind and being behind.
This week I was in the corporate office more than I have been in months. Which was only 3 days. I am going to try really hard to work from the office 2+ days a week again.
On my first day back in the office, I parked on the west side of the large building like I had for over a year now. My usual routine was to go up the elevator to the second floor then hobble down to my office. What I didn't know that the corporate split actually involved the splitting/separation of the large buildings. This meant when I hobbled down towards the office, I found that a wall had been erected. To this, I turned around and hobbled back to the service elevator and hobbled towards the next closest elevator on the other side of this wall. Looking into the recess of the elevator, I found that it was closed for repairs. Again, I had to hobble down to another elevator, which was actually at the east entrance of the building, then walk half way back between the two entrances to my actual office. In short, I hobbled almost a mile just to get to my office to start work.
Right now I don't feel very good, mentally and physically.
My knees and hips hurt from all walking, my sinuses are full thick stuff again and I feel like I haven't slept good in days.
Yesterday, I went to put on a pair of pants for a change, and found that my weight or bloat had gotten so bad that I couldn't fit into my new pants, which were a bit bigger than my old ones... They just weren't broken in enough for me to fit into as well as the old ones.
My sinuses are full of crap and I really, really hate it.
It's just that time of the year here, where it's getting cold and people are starting to light up their wood stoves to burn trash and/or wood.
The air just reeks of nastiness, which increases the phlegm and what not, much to my own demented pleasure.
Wrapping back around to the weekend theme...
I suppose what the weekend expectation for most of us, is the desire that not doing our normal humdrum routines will help us feel better than we did the day before.
Someday I'll be Saturday Night...

I feel better about it, but somethings were left unanswered.
I sent an email to Big Miss's English teacher regarding the reading & movie conundrum that I previously posted about.
The teacher called me yesterday.
She said that since Big Miss was reading some very difficult books and reading lots of them that she would have to retract her statement/policy.
I told the teacher that the Misses were strongly encouraged to read these old classic types of books.
Most new books on the market now for kids & teens are way too "simple".
Don't get me wrong, as I like the concepts around Percy Jackson, but they're awfully simple books to read.
I'm sure many of Rick Riordan fans will be made, but they need to understand something.
I am a HUGE fan of the Kane Chronicles!
Egyptian folklore is something that's always been a mystery covered by authors as long as I can remember, including various movies.

I didn't think much about this at first... but...
The other day, I got an email from Big Miss's English teacher last week.
I saw where she said kids wouldn't get credit for books they read if a movie did that book exists.
At first, I thought good, Big Miss will be forced to explore new books...
Then talking to her about it today, she pointed out that none of the Jane Austin books would count.
After that I realized that none of these other classics would work either.
What about:
- 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
- Treasure Island
- Wuthering Heights
- Jane Eyre
- Of Mice and Men
- etc...
So WTF?
Why would a teacher do that?
That's way too broad of a policy.
I understand why this was done, because they're making movies almost as fast as the author can write them.
There are kids out there who probably cheat and that's why.
I don't know.
I'm pissed about this.
I'm still trying to decide on talking to Ellie before I call the school tomorrow and talk to the principal.
I don't trust the teacher right now.
Also, I want to find out WTF this came from..
- School?
- District?
- Teacher?
I have made my decision about the legalization and use.
What I write here is of myself from my own personal revelation and not
by any of the Church Authorities, Presidency or the Prophet of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints".
I live in one many of the States in the the U.S. that has legalized Marijuana (Pot, ganga, etc. etc.)
Many times in my blog and thoughts, I have mentioned that I would have used "weed".
In my life I have seen lots of people smoke bongs, pipes and joints of marijuana.
Even as recent as last month, although not by choice. This individual just grabbed his joint and lit up when we went into his workshop to get parts.
As a member of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints", I try to abide by the "Word of Wisdom" and abstain from Alcohol, Tobacco and other various drugs.
Although the Word of Wisdom contains more "Do's" than "Don't's".
Over the years since the Word of Wisdom revelation was given, other drugs and substances have emerged that aren't specifically named or under the general items listed.
Prescription medications, social narcotics, etc. aren't listed.
Since those aren't specifically named, are they OK to use at all?
In general it is accepted that medication administrated under the care of a trained physician is OK.
Of course, it is up to the individual under the physician's care to abide by the administered doses and instructions.
Each individual in life is given freedom.
The right to choose.
Their own ability to choose right from wrong based on their own conscience.
I've thought long and hard about my potential use of this substance.
Of those who smoke it, their number one concern is the possibility of developing lung cancer.
While its benefits might aid my medical needs, I don't believe that its benefits and long time effects will actually do me any good.
Even if I consume it orally instead of smoking it.
In short, I have made my personal decision to not utilize this substance no matter what.
Now that I have made my decision, it should be easier to say no when I am offered to partake of it.
