I didn't stay melancholy for long today.
Well...
Long enough to take notice but not enough to stop me.
That and I finally gave up trying to work at about the same time I do everyday.
I concentrated on my ham radio stuff and got my antenna stuff in order.
Using the welder, I setup a bracket which got painted black with Rustoleum.
Then I got some PVC setup to keep the wire off the roof and away from chimney.
Finally I got a backpack, loaded up the tools went to work.
First thing I did was mount the bracket at the front of the house.
Kind of scary using a big old wooden extension ladder.
I got up there and realized I should've gotten up to the porch roof through Big Miss's bedroom window. Probably safer too.
Next I got the other peak ready to go and moved the ladder.
Took longer to move over there walking on the actual roof... But... It was safer than the big ladder.. I thought.
Third step was to sort of crab walk to the chimney where the PVC pipe standoff/T got strapped into place with hose clamps to my other antenna mount.
Lastly, I got it all wired up to my PVC antenna center point using paracord to make the wire taut.
It tuned up better than the 2 meter did on 40 meter, and about as good as 20 meter.
I'll have to play around more on 20 meter with the tuner.
